Welcome to The Life Refurbished!

Hello, I’m Hayley!

I’m passionate about transforming all aspects of life into new and better creations. This passion covers a lot of ground including travel, home, health, and learning how to work from home. Most of all, this blog is about discovering the most important things in life.

The idea for this blog started after I called off my wedding in November of 2016 due to infidelity on my fiance’s part. To say that this was devastating is an understatement. I realized very quickly that I was going to have to rebuild my life almost from scratch. This lead me to the biggest decision I’ve ever made: I decided to move from Wisconsin to Washington state.

In the midst of making that decision, I realized that I was really sick of settling in my life. I didn’t want to do things because they were the easiest path or because my family or friends expected them of me. I want to create a life that is wholly my own and that makes me happy.¬†

This leads to the big ideas behind this blog. I want to travel, both with friends and by myself. I want to create my home so that fills me with energy. I want to love running and hiking. I want to be able to work from anywhere. I want to rediscover what I want out of this life. And I want to take you with me on this journey and hopefully influence your life for the better, no matter where your better leads you.

Now, a few last notes about me. Currently, I’m living in Madison, WI with plans to move to Olympia, WA in July of 2017. My favorite thing in this world is my cat, Hazel. I am a Christian, vegetarian, only child, who’s ultimate goal after graduating university was to be able to afford to feed myself, so I’ve already achieved something in my life.

I try my hardest to post every Monday and sometimes on Thursday. Though, life sometimes gets in the way (not to mention my own laziness.) If you have any questions that are not mentioned here or just want to say hi, you can email me at hayley@theliferefurbished.com or connect with me on one of my social media platforms.
